RISCO Group has released VUpoint. It’s a video verification product that integrates with the company’s security systems to combine intruder detection and video verification.
Using RISCO IP cameras and the cloud, the product is for use within RISCO’s Agility 3 and LightSYS 2 intrusion systems. The addition of VUpoint ‘video-on-demand’ lets users view their homes or businesses.
In addition to providing real-time ‘live’ video surveillance on demand, VUpoint video enabled intrusion systems also provide video clips of up to 30 seconds long and/or snapshots in response to an alarm trigger, from an intrusion or safety alert.
VUpoint video clips and streaming video snapshots can be viewed via RISCO’s latest iRISCO smartphone app, enabling users to visually verify if an activation poses a real threat, or is simply a false alarm. The app can also be configured to call a local police station or a security contractor should the footage reveal an intrusion.
RISCO points to the product’s simplicity. The firm’s IP cameras require no specialised training to install, according to the company, and are available in indoor and outdoor versions. They do not use any alarm zones and can be added in any quantity, for security and safety across any selected areas of a property.
Using plug and play IP cameras, VUpoint can provide installers and users with a combination of intruder detection and video verification, says Steve Riley, Commercial Director of RISCO Group UK & Ireland: “When used in combination with the award-winning LightSYS 2 or Agility 3 intruder systems, VUpoint provides a professional intruder detection and cloud-based live video verification solution that is unsurpassed by any security system on the market today.”
