IFSEC & OSH Arabia, the security shows organised by UBM Live, announced that IBM has confirmed as lead sponsor of Safe Cities at IFSEC & OSH Arabia 2014. IBM will showcase their own Command and Control Centre at the centre of the Safe Cities zone.

Mohamed Abdelhak, General Manager, IBM Middle East, Saudi Arabia Branch, said: “Public officials are today turning to technology advances to make our public safety systems smarter. From traffic tie-ups to security breaches and natural disasters, organizations can now gather huge volumes of data and use analytics to uncover safe city trends before they become major issues. As city safety systems become increasingly sophisticated, it is essential that developers understand how these technologies can be operated in an integrated way. This is where IBM smarter cities solutions help decision makers to anticipate safety challenges—meaning better citizen-centered services for the public.”

Safe Cities at IFSEC & OSH Arabia will showcase how traditional and new security solutions can be interconnected, interoperable and future-proofed to play a vital role in advanced security architectures, providing stronger resilience, greater security and a safer environment for the next generation. IBM, as Safe Cities lead sponsor, will demonstrate their capabilities through interactive demonstrations at the command and control centre on their stand at J27. This is coupled with a series of IBM led Safe Cities seminar presentations which will provide technical insights into projects around the world. Safe Cities projects are set to cover markets including infrastructure, government, transport, education, healthcare, retail, banking, cyber security, construction and energy.

Kristan Johnstone, International Event Manager, IFSEC & OSH Arabia said: “2014 is an exciting year for us, the launch of Safe Cities in the Middle East region is a reflection on what the industry demands. With IBM as lead sponsor, this demonstrates the importance of integration between systems and how they can be implemented at the highest level. We’re working full steam ahead to the event in just a few day’s time and we’re looking forward to revealing what’s new for 2014.”

IFSEC & OSH Arabia, which showcases Safe Cities, takes place from November 2 to 4, at RICEC, Riyadh Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. Visitors can register to attend – www.ifsec-osh-arabia.com/register
