Integrated Systems

ievo certified by Lenel

ievo Ltd, the biometric fingerprint recognition products firm, has received Lenel factory certification and joined the Lenel OpenAccess Alliance scheme. ievo reports that its fingerprint recognition products can now work with Lenel’s OnGuard access control system, for a streamlined approach to fingerprint enrollment.

John Marchioli, OAAP product management, Lenel, said: “ievo has completed required factory testing at Lenel to validate the functionality of its interface to the OnGuard system. Having this interface will provide our customers with a great biometric option to enhance their security. We look forward to their continued involvement in the Lenel OpenAccess Alliance Program.”

Newcastle upon Tyne-based ievo developed and tested its integrated fingerprint enrollment software in-house, then certified by Lenel engineers, verifying that it interfaces with OnGuard access control. The enrollment software connects to the Lenel server for user information, besides the ievo Sync server for management of the control boards and distribution of the fingerprint templates. The interface also allows for enrollment of new templates, along with template management.

The security product firms say that the integration is a method for systems migration and the protection of legacy investments. The interface allows simultaneous fingerprint enrollment at multiple locations – letting directors and managers remotely oversee their business. For a user with multiple premises, those templates will be securely stored on the ievo control board and can be accessed at each location.

The fingerprint access control systems are described by the firms as a viable alternative to the more traditional cards and PINs systems.

Shaun Oakes, Managing Director of ievo Ltd, pictured, says: “2018 has been a fantastic year for us at ievo as we expand our reach and make our products more accessible to the wider access control segment. The interface with the Lenel OnGuard access control system will enable an efficient and cost-saving system migration and further protection of legacy investments. The opportunity also helps to boost the presence of the ievo brand worldwide.”
