HD Video Solution

New from manufacturer Johnson Controls is its HD Video Solution, that uses analogue infrastructure. The Holis HD Tribrid Video Recorders support SD analogue cameras, Illustra Essentials IP cameras, and a new line of HD cameras.

Available in four, eight, and 16-channel models, the recorders feature intuitive search, record, zoom and export functions, plus all channel synchronous real-time playback for post-event forensics. With support for H.264 dual-stream video compression, the recorders feature up to 12 TB of storage and 1080P real time-recording across all channels.

With the new American Dynamics HD cameras which include fixed and varifocal bullets and domes, the range provides an alternative to IP cameras and allows users to upgrade their system over time while protecting their CCTV investment, the makers say.

The new fixed HD bullet and mini-dome cameras boast 3.6mm fixed lenses and provide up to 1080p video resolution (1920 x 1080) in an uncompressed format over the same standard coaxial cable that is used for standard CCTV cameras. Where most domes operate on two axes, the fixed mini-dome’s three-axis feature has a much wider field of view.

The varifocal HD bullet and dome cameras include a 2.7-12mm motorised lens and feature Smart Infrared for recording over 196 feet away in total darkness, according to the company. The cameras are waterproof, rated IP67, and feature WDR making them suitable it’s claimed for applications with volatile weather or lighting.

Stuart Bettle, Video Product Marketing Manager, EMEA, Building Technologies & Solutions, Johnson Controls said: “Our cost-effective HD video solution provides an ideal migration path for small to mid-sized sites looking to leverage their investments in analogue but add on higher resolution cameras as their needs evolve. Users can also manage their video remotely with the full-featured Holis Go mobile app or Web Client for continual surveillance, no matter how widespread their facilities.”

The system is aimed at customers who have analogue but are looking to expand or increase video resolution, and who have a maximum need of 16 cameras. Visit
