Dubai deadline

The annual Intersec Dubai exhibition represents an opportunity to showcase the latest products and services to over 25,000 buyers from more than 100 countries, says the BSIA trade body. The 2016 event runs between January 17 and 19.

As a UKTI Accredited Trade Organisation, the British Security Industry Association (BSIA) is again hosting the show’s UK Pavilion for security, fire and policing, where a small number of stands remain available for British companies. The BSIA says exhibiting as part of the UK Pavilion brings a range of benefits for new and experienced exporters:

Prominent stand position in the main section of the show
Logistical and on-site support from BSIA trade experts
Extra exposure to visitors through a strong UK brand presence
Hassle-free stand design and build
£2,500 funding grants available for eligible small businesses

For those companies new to exporting, exhibiting as part of the UK pavilion can bring added peace of mind, as Peter Jarvis, Senior Executive VP of Storm Interface, says: “As a new exhibitor, being part of the UK Pavilion was a very positive experience. With the logistics of booth construction and provision of services largely handled by the BSIA, we were able to concentrate on the promotional and sales activities required to make our trade show presence as productive as it could be.”

Meanwhile, exporters also benefit from the high profile of the UK pavilion. John Davies, Managing Director of TDSi and Chairman of the BSIA’s Export Council, says: “Being an experienced exporter, TDSi still chooses to be part of the UK Pavilions at the international exhibitions it attends. Being co-located with fellow UK companies ensures those buyers who are sourcing quality UK products can easily find us.

“The BSIA liaises with local contractors, ensuring the TDSi stand, within the UK Pavilion, is build and product is on site when we arrive at the show. The UK brand is well-respected and the BSIA works closely with UK companies exhibiting in the Pavilion to ensure all media channels are utilised, meaning that the UK Pavilion gains maximum footfall.”

Daren Wood, Membership and Export Services Manager at the BSIA, adds: “Exhibiting as part of a UK Pavilion can make expanding into overseas markets a much less stressful experience for British security and fire companies. The opportunity to share best practice with fellow exporters, while benefiting from logistical and organisational support, can help businesses make the most of the exhibition by focusing their valuable resources on forming relationships and generating sales leads.”

Members of the BSIA or the FIA (Fire Industry Association) can reserve stand space for a reduced management fee of £200, while non-members can do so for £500. Businesses may qualify for a funding grant of £2,500 to assist with exhibition costs when taking part in the UK Pavilion, through UKTI’s Tradeshow Access Programme. For Intersec Dubai 2016, funding availability is limited to 50 companies and will be allocated on a first-come, first-served basis.

Details of TAP Funding eligibility criteria, as well as funding application forms and stand space booking forms can all be downloaded from the BSIA’s website: www.bsia.co.uk/events.

The deadline for returning application forms is Friday, October 16.
