Design App

by Mark Rowe

New from the CCTV lighting product manufacturer Raytec is its Design App – an application for lighting design for video surveillance, to simplify the product selection process, the firm says.

David Lambert, Raytec’s Managing Director (Joint), said: “With the new Raytec Design App it has never been easier to add lighting to video surveillance systems. It puts an incredibly user-friendly lighting design tool at our customers’ fingertips, giving them the power to design professional lighting systems and deliver a simple visualisation of lighting on site”.

Through the new app users can access their site on Google Maps and plot the coverage from selected Raytec illuminators. Lighting design details can be saved as a project, edited afterwards and emailed for reference.

“Detailed lighting design plans usually come into the picture at later stages, this free app helps customers quickly gather an initial idea of the lighting requirements for their site.” says Mike Jamieson, Director – Raytec Systems Inc. “And compatibility with the Apple iPad and Android tablets mean lighting designs are now easily accessible and offer enhanced mobility for security professionals on the move”.

Raytec also continue to offer a more in-depth Professional Lighting Design Service as a free support package, which includes 2D and 3D lighting design plans to highlight the best possible lighting positions, number of fittings and detailed lighting levels. Our team of expert lighting designers can help you design a custom scheme that ensures excellent lighting performance and efficiency.

The new app is available as a free download on the App Store and Google Play.
