by Mark Rowe

Members of the British Security Industry Association’s Export Council are preparing for the 19th edition of Intersec Dubai, which runs from January 22 to 24.

According to a survey among BSIA Export Council members, 69 per cent of respondents are already active in the region, whilst 77pc of them also reported that they are looking to increase business in the region over the coming 12 months.

Membership and Export Services Manager at the BSIA, Daren Wood, says: “Countries in the Middle East are investing heavily in upgrading and securing their infrastructure. The Middle East market for security, which includes fire and safety, is estimated to make double digit growth over the next four years, as governments and businesses in the region look for innovative and improved technologies to protect people, assets and borders.”

Returning from 2016’s Intersec, many BSIA members reported that the show had been a productive experience, and that they had benefitted from engaging with some of the 31,261 visitors from 128 countries. A number of BSIA members will be returning this year to showcase their latest products to the show’s international audience. BSIA members exhibiting at Intersec this year include:

TDSi – stand S1-A09

BSIA member company, TDSi, will be giving a preview of its forthcoming GARDiS software. GARDiS is a web-based application, adaptable for an increased workload and accessible from anywhere on any device.

GARDiS has been designed to meet and anticipate international security standards. Recently, the IEC (International Electrotechnical Commission) adopted an ONVIF Profile A and C as the de-facto new international standard for access control, and accordingly, GARDiS has been designed as an ONVIF Profile A and C compliant platform.

As well as GARDiS, TDSi will also be showcasing the latest version of its EXgarde security management software. The new version provides full integration with ASSA ABLOY’s KS100 server cabinet wireless electronic lock, which provides the ability to include the physical security of servers within the wider security network. EXgarde can also be used to oversee and control a number of complementary security systems such as Texecom’s intruder panels and SimonsVoss’ SmartIntego wireless door locks.

Managing Director of TDSi,John Davies, said: “TDSi is excited to be taking part in Intersec 2017 as the Middle East is a key export market for us. The show offers the chance for customers and partners to see the latest products and services that are on offer and draws exhibitors and visitors from a wide area. Equally, the event offers the TDSi team the opportunity to talk directly to the people who buy and sell the products across the region and beyond. This gives a better understanding of the demands and needs from this important security market.”

Texecom – stand S2-E33

Texecom, the security alarm firm is also exhibiting at Intersec 2017. Established 30 years ago, Texecom’s flagship product range, the Premier Elite Series, provides a single security system architecture that scales from the smallest security applications to the largest and most complex. Ricochet-enabled wireless devices receive and repeat wireless transmissions from other devices. Texecom will be showcasing the upcoming introduction of Texecom Connect; it provides three new connectivity options:

Texecom Connect App – New smartphone application for Android and iOS operating systems.
