Software for IDs

by Mark Rowe

Entrust Datacard announced the new Datacard TruCredential Suite Software. It’s for users to deploy ID, from basic photo IDs to what the product company terms high-assurance credentials.

The new software can be used to issue a variety of credentials such as student, faculty or visitor IDs; employee or contract badges; patient and staff healthcare IDs; credentials for local government; membership and customer loyalty cards; and transit passes.

Available in four editions that allow users to scale up from a single workstation to a multi-station, enterprise-wide application, the suite offers pre-configured card design templates that can be customized to develop your particular designs. As for enrollment and data capture you can use QR code, photo and signature devices for capturing physical and logical cardholder data; and workflow tools to reduce set-up time. The software integrates with physical access control system (PACS) interfaces; and smart card encoding support can aid operational efficiencies, the makers say.

Ryan Zlockie, vice president of software product marketing for Entrust Datacard, says: “For most public and private organizations, the ability to positively identify employees, students and visitors serves as the foundation for effective security – and this requires a flexible, web based secure ID solution. We are pleased to offer a complete software suite that can support a wide range of issuance technologies that gives organizations the ability to determine precisely who should and who should not access their facilities.”
