Morpho (Safran) has won a three-year contract from the Slovak Republic for the delivery of driver licenses. The French firm says it becomes the sole supplier of all official identity documents for Slovakia.
Morpho already supplies the Slovak Republic with passports, vehicle registration cards, resident permits, weapon registration documents, police ID cards and eID cards. This new contract for driver’s license cards integrates Morpho’s security features (special inks, tactile relief, laser engraving, etc) to comply with European standards and provide protection against document fraud, the makers say.
Jacques van Zijp, General Manager Business Unit Europe, Government Identity Solutions division at Morpho, said: “We see this contract from the Ministry of the Interior of the Slovak Republic as a sign of continued trust in our technologies, placing the production of all official ID documents in our hands. Our identity solutions deliver forgery-proof and trusted documents under maximum security conditions, enabling Morpho to satisfy the confidence placed in us.”
