MyTAG photo ID card

by Mark Rowe

MyTAG has launched its patented Secure Proof of ID product, which authenticates that its ID cards are original.

As the company says, the use of ID cards is becoming more widespread, from providing name and photo identification, permitting construction site access, security clearances, showing evidence of qualifications or training records, or proving membership entitlement of gyms or clubs. However, most cards can be copied and photos can be changed.

When a MyTAG photo ID card is tapped on a mobile phone, or other NFC-enabled device, the technology inside transmits a Unique Identification Number to a remote secure server which responds providing absolute authentication. The MyTAG photo ID card transmits open data and secure data so that photos, identity, and any permits, authorisations or training records can be instantly validated. If a card is found to have been copied the MyTAG system transmits real-time alerts, which include location, to system administrators.

Cards can be renewed or updated remotely from within the MyTAG Secure Proof of ID system. This removes the cost of issuing annual cards and fulfilment services.

Mike George, Founder and Director of MyTAG said: “MyTAG Secure Proof of ID proves that an ID card is genuine and all information held on the card can be updated as required in real-time. Our system takes away the need for cards to be physically renewed, which saves our clients’ money and helps reduce the use of plastics.”
