ID passes for events

by Mark Rowe

Essentra Security will exhibit their event accreditation and ID passes for outdoor events at the 2019 Showman’s Show. The UK exhibition for the outdoor and special events industry runs at Newbury Showground, Berkshire on October 16 and 17.

As a supplier of identity products, Essentra Security’s event passes are in use at many major sporting and outdoor events, the company says. The products primarily allow organisers to manage and know who is on their site through clear visual identification. IDs allow an event to maintain control over private access areas for staff and VIPs, carry out capacity control, bag checking, and visual differentiation between staff, attendees and VIPs.

Outdoor events often require more advanced security as they tend to cover larger areas and facilitate a higher number of visitors, the company adds. Unauthorised entry is more common as it is easier to gain access to the site. Attendees, staff and contractors also need to see clear indications of safety measures to feel secure and comfortable in such large crowds. On offer for the event management industry are: RFID contactless chip encoding for access control on cards and wristbands; anti-tamper luggage tags for bag checks; forgery-proof UV printing to ensure ID cards and accreditation passes cannot be replicated, double clipped lanyards to ensure event passes always display the correct side; bespoke lanyards and accessories for colour coding of staff, contractors and VIP’s; and printing software to create professional ID cards featuring personal information, company branding and relevant event details.

On display will be printed accreditation passes, photo ID cards, complementary accessories and printing solutions for event applications:

•The Pe2M 2XL+, a pre-print product that creates professional, large-format, forgery-proof accreditation cards within seconds.
•The SCC4000D which offers on-demand oversized printing and fast speeds, printing a 3.5” x 5.5” 1200 dpi full-colour card in two seconds.
•The Zebra ZC10L, printing edge-to-edge custom cards in full-colour (and direct-to-card with one pass), for those looking to avoid having to pre-order.

Sue Woodcock, Sales and Marketing Manager, Essentra Security said: “Event organisers and professional sports leagues can decide to pre-print cards ahead of an event or to print their cards at the point of entry. All solutions can be customised for individual guests delivering exceptional photo-quality images, rich colours and crisp text. With integrated design printing software, organisers can showcase their brand with professional and secure results.”

The Showman’s Show will again recognise suppliers who are making a special effort towards environmentally sustainable practices, products and services with “The Green Supplier & Innovation Award”. Darren Snow, Commercial Manager, Essentra Security said: “We recognise our responsibility to do more for the environment and are beginning to work more with our manufacturers to develop and deliver greener options to all of our markets.”
