Summer clothing

by Mark Rowe

Timberland PRO has launched a new summer collection providing workers in tough working environments across a range of sectors and trades with protective footwear and work wear.

Olivier Touchais, regional product general manager, gloves and clothing for Honeywell Safety Products EMEAI, said: “People at work – particularly the self-employed and those in professional trades – not only want comfortable products that can withstand the rigors of working environments but they also want to look smart and stylish. The new summer range of Timberland PRO® footwear, t-shirts, technical polo shirts, parka jacket and painter’s trousers has been created with this in mind. It offers a range of equipment that is designed specifically for work but with a high street style and design that comes from the renowned Timberland PRO® brand.”

Included in the new collection are three new Wildcard products designed for workers who are on their feet all day. These include two safety footwear styles and one occupational style, all with a sporty design. The products also offer shock absorption as well as slip and abrasion resistance thanks to the integration of an EVA midsole and Timberland PRO’s exclusive Vibram outsole.

The summer clothing introductions boast wider wearer benefits, such as Push and Pull fibre technology with Dry Tech treatment incorporated into the Technical Polo shirts to help keep the wearer dry and fresh. The painter’s trousers have been designed to offer comfort, flexibility and freedom of movement and are made using a flexible, lightweight tear resistant fabric to increase wear. They also have multiple pockets including built in knee pad pockets, and can be used for indoor and outdoor work.

“People want their protective footwear and clothing to work as hard as they do with products that are comfortable, made to last and have style. That is exactly what is at the heart of this new summer range,” added Olivier.

Eleven new products make up the new summer collection, all featuring the Timberland PRO branding, including the three new Wildcard footwear products; two short sleeve t-shirts and two technical polo shirts – both available in blue and Turkish coffee colours; two long sleeve t-shirts in midnight blue and lichen colours; the painter’s trousers and for outdoor workers who may face occasional rain and drops in temperature, a lightweight shower-proof parka jacket made from abrasion-resistant Polyamide fibre.
