SSAIB at CT Expo

by msecadm4921

SSAIB, the UK certification body for electronic security, manned guarding services, fire protection and alarm systems, is returning to Counter Terror Expo in April. SSAIB will be exhibiting at the event on stand H179, following a show debut in 2011.

As a specialist certification body, the SSAIB says that it offers a range of  benefits to counter-terrorism service suppliers and end-user customers alike – a particularly topical issue in the run-up to this summer’s London Olympics. For instance, these benefits enable organisations including guarding service providers to participate in the ‘wider police family’ by demonstrating that they operate a professional business, compliant with relevant technical and operational standards.

This includes companies requiring licensing by the Security Industry Authority – SSAIB certification provides vital evidence of compliance in support of licence applications. It also enables individuals or organisations that design, install and maintain intruder alarms to demonstrate compliance with the Private Security Authority’s licensing requirements in Ireland, as well as Garda Policy on monitored intruder alarms.

“SSAIB certification is a particularly relevant advantage for counter-terrorism systems and services,” says Chief Executive Geoff Tate. “We provide access to technical experts who help service providers interpret standards and technical requirements.

“Meanwhile, for purchasers, specifiers and end-users, our remit as a Certification Body is to ensure your interests are protected and that you have access to a pool of competent service providers you can rely on. This is achieved through a strict enforcement of quality and performance standards carried out by our skilled assessors. Insurers are increasingly requiring evidence that all reasonable steps have been taken to mitigate risk and an SSAIB certificated company will meet or exceed your insurer’s requirements.”
