Shopping centre contract

by Mark Rowe

Incentive FM, the facilities management contractor, has further extended its relationship with property management company Jones Lang Lasalle. The FM firm has been awarded a million pound contract for Middleton Grange Shopping Centre in Hartlepool, pictured.

Middleton Grange covers an area of over 550,000 square feet and contains 140 stores, including UK high street names, as well as an indoor market. It has a car park with 1,200 spaces. Mark Rycraft was recently awarded “Centre Manager of the Year’ at the SCEPTRE awards.

Under the terms of the million pound deal, Incentive FM will provide what the contractor terms a ‘Total FM solution’ at the centre including security, cleaning, waste, and mechanical and electrical services. The 50 facilities management staff will transfer to Incentive FM under TUPE.

Martin Reed, Managing Director of Incentive FM, said: “Our solutions for shopping centres deliver benefits through a more efficient use of staff, innovative technology and the streamlining of invoicing and accountancy procedures. This is designed to add up to a lower total acquisition cost for the shopping centre and accordingly, their retailers. As a result our portfolio of shopping centres is growing steadily as property managers such as Jones Lang Lasalle start to see the results we deliver.”

Mark Rycraft, Centre Manager, said: “I’m really glad to be working with such an innovative and customer focused organisation. The next few months will be really exciting.”
