Security Personnel Awards

by Mark Rowe

The British Security Industry Association (BSIA) has announced the regional winners of their Security Personnel Awards (SPAs). Each year the BSIA holds awards regionally and nationally to celebrate some of the outstanding personnel who have gone above and beyond the call of duty in their everyday work.

For the past 20 years the awards, sponsored by Camberford Law plc, serve to recognise the talent, dedication, skill and bravery of security personnel, whether saving lives to aiding in police investigations. In 2018 the regional winners cover the spectrum of BSIA members and their clients.

The SPA regional winners will now go forward as national finalists, and the winners will be presented at a BSIA lunch, in London on Wednesday, July 11, at the Marriott Hotel, Grosvenor Square.

James Kelly, Chief Executive of the BSIA said: “It is important that we recognise the true value of security personnel, who are often the first responders in times of emergency and play a vital role in keeping the public safe. This year’s SPA regional winners are testament to the truly high calibre of personnel we have working within our industry. We received a high number of fantastic nominations this year, making the judging process a tough one. This year’s winners should be extremely proud of their achievements and we wish them luck as they go forward as SPA finalists to the British Security Awards in July.”

· VSG (best team, best newcomer, best use of technology, outstanding act)
· Securitas UK (for best newcomer, outstanding act, service to the customer)
