Securitas at IFSEC 2014

by Mark Rowe

As visitors to IFSEC saw in May, Securitas provided the security and stewarding services at the ExCeL venue in London.

IFSEC ran at its new home, ExCel, London between 17 and 19 June and Securitas oversaw the build-up and breakdown of the show and to ensure visitors and exhibitors had a pleasant, trouble-free experience.

Over the three-day event, Securitas personnel were positioned at all entrances to welcome visitors and help with any queries. Security officers were also placed at strategic locations at the venue as a physical presence.

Gerry Dunphy, Event Director, IFSEC International said: “We were thrilled to have Securitas present at the show this year and to have man guarding represented in such a strong way. We have received a huge amount of positive feedback about the event in June and we are pleased that Securitas could be part of it.”

The contract security firm also provided stand security to those exhibitors who requested it over the night and ensured correct health and safety procedures were in place and helped to keep gangways and walkways clear from obstruction and hazard.

And as exhibitors at the event, Securitas showcased its guarding credentials. Plus, a team was on hand to provide details on its crime scene guarding, fire crew capability, a new reception service concept, as well as full scale security solutions and on-site and remote guarding.

Securitas Country President Brian Riis Nielsen, a speaker at the IFSEC conference inside the show, said: “We were delighted to be chosen to safeguard exhibitors and visitors for this significant event in the security industry’s calendar. We provided 24 hour cover throughout the build-up to IFSEC, during the event itself and its breakdown. We were also pleased to see so many visitors on our stand and to be able to showcase our services and capabilities. We very much look forward to returning to IFSEC in 2015.”
