RoSPA award

by Mark Rowe

Mitie, the facilities management company, has a ninth consecutive Gold Award from the Royal Society for the Prevention of Accidents (RoSPA). This follows the recent confirmation of Gold Awards for three of Mitie’s largest integrated facilities management contracts – Rolls-Royce, Lloyds Banking Group and the Cumbrian Collaboration.

For the past 60 years, the annual RoSPA Awards have been held to celebrate excellence in safety, as a universal acknowledgement of an organisation’s commitment to promoting good habits and awareness of health and safety.

Mitie points to its engaging of employees at all levels through interactive campaigns and communications – most recently, the ‘One lapse can last a lifetime’ video series as part of Mitie’s long-standing Work Safe Home Safe! campaign, which encourages employees to consider the long-term effects of their actions in the workplace.

Martyn Freeman, Managing Director for Mitie’s facilities management division, said: “I am absolutely delighted by this latest RoSPA success, both for our division and for our three IFM teams. These Gold Awards are yet another testament to their hard work in promoting the health, safety and wellbeing of our people, and I offer them my sincerest congratulations on this fantastic achievement.”

Mitie’s FM QHSE team will attend an awards ceremony on Tuesday, June 21, at London ExCeL.
