RoSPA accolade

by Mark Rowe

Servest Security Services’ approach to occupational safety and health has been recognised by safety charity, the Royal Society for the Prevention of Accidents (RoSPA).

The Silver award in the RoSPA Occupational Health and Safety Awards 2013 will be presented at the Hilton Birmingham Metropole Hotel, at the National Exhibition Centre, on May 16.

David Rawlins, RoSPA’s awards manager, said: “RoSPA firmly believes that organisations that demonstrate commitment to continuous improvement in accident and ill health prevention deserve recognition. Servest Security Services has shown that it is committed to striving for such continuous improvement and we are delighted to honour it through the presentation of an award.”

Andy Campbell, SHEQ Manager, said: “At Servest the safety of our employees and customers is our highest priority. The ROSPA Award is testament to the hard work and commitment of our employees in achieving robust health and safety processes and procedures, given the diversity of activities performed by our staff. For both our customers and employees, Servest continually strive for excellence in health and safety.”

The majority of awards that RoSPA presents are non-competitive, marking achievement at merit, bronze, silver and gold levels. Organisations maintaining high standards can win gold medals, president’s awards and orders of distinction.

Competitive awards are presented in more than 20 sectors, and competitive awards also recognise excellence in specialist areas, such as the management of occupational road risk (MORR). See www.rospa.com/awards/ for more information about the RoSPA Occupational Health and Safety Awards.
