Richard Bailey joins Mitie

by Mark Rowe

Mitie has appointed Richard Bailey as commercial director for its total security management business. He joins the contractor from Advance Security UK Ltd, where he was 14 years, most latterly as managing director for its corporate and technologies division.

Richard succeeds James Gilding as commercial director, and takes over the national remit for sales across the security management arm of the facilities management contractor.

Richard Bailey said: “I am delighted to have joined Mitie at what is an exciting point in its continued development. Since joining I have been hugely impressed by a varied and prestigious customer base, passionate senior team, dynamic operation, driven support functions and a long term commitment to sustainable growth and development. I take great pride in being asked to lead a commercial team that has achieved so much over recent years and I’m looking to bring a fresh perspective and energetic approach to the commercial function in all areas and believe that this can spark further innovation.

“When I considered my next career move I had been extremely impressed with Mitie’s vision and strategy in the security industry and was my only choice for furthering my security career.”

Bob Forsyth, managing director for Mitie’s total security management business, said Richard Bailey’s experience combined with his business acumen made him a real asset. “Richard will drive our sustainable growth through transformational wins, relationship management and sector specialisms.”
