Personal safety app

by Mark Rowe

The StaySafe Business personal safety app and monitoring service is now available in the app store which comes with Cat rugged smartphones.

StaySafe Business is an app and surrounding cloud-based monitoring service which tracks an employees’ location via GPS and alerts their manager if they do not check-in within a specified time. The app offers such functions as a panic button, working session expiry and low battery warnings, GPS tracking, inactivity and duress alerts. If an employee activates the app’s panic button or fails to check in, alerts are automatically triggered on screen and via text and email, allowing an employer to take action. Monitoring can be done in-house via an online hub or outsourced to Securitas in the UK, and other StaySafe partners internationally, who offer 24/7 monitoring and response services.

Oliver Schulte, CEO at Cat Phones says: “Our business relies on delivering both great hardware and software. As well as being rugged and durable, our handsets must also offer customers enhanced usability from the software which is why we have worked with Appland to create our own app store where we can curate and promote apps that are highly relevant to our users. The StaySafe app is a perfect example of the sort of app we want to push to our customers.”

And Jeff Carroll, Operations Director, StaySafe adds: “Being available in the App Store on Cat Phones is a fantastic platform as it gives visibility of the StaySafe app to an already engaged market. We are looking forward to working with Cat Phones to promote the app to their customers and keeping more people safe as a result.”
