OCS Group in India

by Mark Rowe

OCS Group, UK family-owned facilities services company operating in 40 countries, now offers Facilities Management (FM) services to Indian clients. OCS Group recently invested Rs. 200 crore in service providers in India such as Absotherm Facilities Management Private Limited (engineering), Radiant Hospitality Services Private Limited (housekeeping), Cannon Hygiene India Private Limited (hygiene and sanitation) and Central Investigation & Security Services Limited (security services). OCS Group can now directly deliver facilities management services such as engineering, cleaning, hygiene, security and other FM services to Indian clients without appointing multiple subcontractors.

The number of people employed in various OCS Group operations in India is about 22,000 and OCS Group is focusing on job creation and skills enhancement of its employees. Chris Cracknell, Chief Executive Officer, OCS Group, said: “India is a powerhouse in the global economy and the OCS Group reiterates its long-term commitment to this market through a single brand yet multiple business units. As the economic forecasts indicate an increasing demand for core facilities management services as well as increasingly high expectations from the workplace, OCS Group aims to become the preferred FM partner. As Indian customers seek the best value from outsourcing, OCS Group can deliver international best practice through our expertise, systems and resources. We will be offering a fully integrated back-office function coupled with a multi-service management team, cutting edge delivery models and lean process engineering.

“India will soon be a major contributor to our global turnover. The OCS Group family in India is already 22,000 people strong and we aim to double the size of our business and people employed over the next 5 years to deliver double-digit growth strategy during this period. By offering professional training and providing gainful work we, at OCS Group, are creating sustainable solutions for Indian businesses and Indian citizens.”

Heather Suksem, Chief Executive Officer, South Asia, South East Asia and Middle East for OCS Group, added: “OCS has had a presence in India for the last 20 years and thanks to the huge affiliation between OCS Group and India, it’s been our desire to really grow our business here. Over the last few years, acquisitions have been in the forefront of our group strategy, coupled with OCS Group’s business integration initiative we now have a strong pan India presence enabling us to support local, national and international clients. We have a clear strategy to integrate our service-oriented branch structure and to consolidate and expand our established markets while developing new emerging markets.

“As a business with over 100 years experience focused on customer service, we recognise that all customers have specialist requirements and will continue to develop market sector specialisation. In India, we are already very well established in key sectors such as hotels, malls, manufacturing, commercial and residential and we intend to utilise our global and regional expertise to capitalise further on key markets including healthcare, aviation & education amongst others,” added Suksem.

The executive management team of OCS Group in India now comprises – Pradip Menon, MD of Absotherm Facility Management; Sheldon Simons, MD of Radiant Hospitality Services Private Limited; Prashant Sule, MD of Cannon Hygiene India (Washroom and Hygiene Services); Ramesh Pimple, Chairman and K. N. Pimple, MD of Central Investigation & Security Services Limited (CISS); and Narendra Arora, Financial Director.
