The Europe-wide, French-based service provider Samsic has been certified ‘Gold’ by Ecovadis, which enables companies to monitor the corporate social responsibility (CSR) performance of their suppliers across 150 sectors and 99 countries.
A 2005 signatory to the UN Global Compact Agreement, Rennes-based Samsic – which trades in the UK under the Regent Samsic brand – is one of Europe’s largest business service providers and France’s second largest cleaning company. EcoVadis assessed official documents and 21 CSR indicators covering 150 categories of purchases, before placing Samsic in the top 25,000 companies examined by the platform. The assessment is compatible with new international standards such as GRI G3, Global Compact and the ISO 26000 standard.
Regent Samsic joint managing director, John Critchell says: “Attaining so high a level of assessment gives a real boost to the Samsic group’s ongoing work in CSR and to related aspects of our business, as well as giving stakeholders an objective summary of our approach and its effectiveness.”
