Foremost takeover

by Mark Rowe

The East Midlands-based security guarding contractor Foremost Security reports its takeover of Nottingham based security firm, Cerberus Facilities Management.

The owner of Cerberus approached the Director of Foremost back in July, explaining that they wanted to leave the industry, and after a couple of meetings in which discussions about which sites Foremost would take over, negotiations followed. Foremost report that they have secured 80 per cent of Cerberus’ clients.

Foremost offer Manned Guarding, Mobile Patrols, Lock/Unlock, Key-holding and Alarm Response. The firm’s Manned Guarding has increased to a consistent 4000 hours provided each week, which is an approximate 400-hour increase. This has allowed them to develop their Mobile Patrol fleet to eight vans which will benefit the response time to clients – which is already at an average of 22 minutes.

Since the takeover in July, Foremost reports significant growth in their client base and have secured work with Jeld Wen – Melton Mowbray, Cold Harbour Marine, Enva Waste Management, Lowdham Leisure World, Bunches, J McCann, Plastique, Sat Bains and Pro-log Fulfilment, just to name a few.

Ben Spencer, who was the Director of Operations at Cerberus said: “As a security solutions provider with over 20 years’ experience, we’re absolutely delighted to trust and hand over to Foremost. We know they’re always thinking of their clients’ futures and those who were previously with us, will be in very safe hands.”

Foremost in 2018 they launched an app that allows mobile patrols to record and report any suspicious activity at a client’s premises.

Matt Prince, the Sales and Marketing Director at Foremost Security said: “The takeover was very smooth and really without any issues or concerns. We’re really pleased with how quickly we were able to move things forward. We are working with some very big national and international customers and have had some very interesting conversations about the working relationship moving forward with the potential of additional security work starting on the back of what we now provide.

“I love meeting new customers and getting to know them whilst visiting the new sites. It’s also been great to inherit some fantastic security officers through TUPE, they’ve all been a huge benefit in the handover and their individual site knowledge has been invaluable.”
