Mitie, the facilities management (FM) company, has won its eighth consecutive Gold Medal Award with the Royal Society for the Prevention of Accidents (RoSPA). The FM firm has been awarded two Gold Awards for its integrated FM contracts with the Cumbrian Collaboration and Lloyds Banking Group for the second and third consecutive year respectively.
Mitie’s integrated FM team on the Vodafone contract also entered the awards for the first time this year and achieved a Silver Award. With their continued focus on improving their health and safety performance the team is aiming for a Gold Award next year.
The awards are a result of regularly attaining exceptionally high health and safety results and for its commitment to raising awareness of workplace safety through various initiatives, including workshops, safety culture survey, safety bulletins and leadership improvement plans.
Martyn Freeman, Managing Director of Mitie’s FM division, said: “To obtain four RoSPA awards across our FM division is a fantastic achievement and one I am extremely proud of. Health and safety is something that we take very seriously at Mitie and these awards are testament to our passionate health and safety team who are 100% committed to the continuing health, safety and wellbeing of our people.”
The RoSPA awards scheme recognises commitment to accident and ill health prevention and is open to businesses and organisations from across the UK and overseas.
