Excellence awards winners hailed

by Mark Rowe

NSI-approved companies from across the four nations of the UK were among winners and finalists at this year’s Security & Fire Excellence Awards, which ran yesterday, for the first time as a virtual event.

The National Security Inspectorate congratulates all of this year’s winners and finalists, including 28 NSI approved companies, and applauds the NSI approved companies and their teams who won top prizes in five categories:

Security Installer of the Year; Reliance High-Tech

Lockdown Hero of the Year; Mitie Security

Event Security Team of the Year; FGH Security

Security Project of the Year; STM Group (UK)

Inspiration in HR; Wilson James.

NSI is a founding stakeholder of the Engineers of Tomorrow competition. While this year’s competition for young installation engineers couldn’t take place as the IFSEC 2020 exhibition at London Excel did not go ahead in May, a video was featured highlighting talent. Those interested in taking part in the 2021 competition (with the chance of competing at WorldSkills UK in November) can register their interest now.

Richard Jenkins, pictured, NSI Chief Executive said: “For obvious reasons, it’s been a very difficult year for businesses, with the security and safety of their team and clients the top priority in these unprecedented circumstances.

“This year’s virtual Security & Fire Excellence Awards is a welcome event in the calendar, providing the perfect opportunity to celebrate the important contribution those in the industry have made in such challenging times. Our congratulations go to all the winners and finalists.”
