Energy contract

by Mark Rowe

A UK security contract with Scottish & Southern Energy (SSE) has gone to Mitie, the facilities management company. The contractor’s Total Security Management business secured the three year contract to provide 24 hour security personnel.

Mitie says that it was awarded the contract based on its critical security environment expertise and online operations software, WorkPlace+, which gives the client access to real-time contract management information.

Jason Towse, Managing Director of Mitie’s Total Security Management business, said: “I am delighted to be expanding our working relationship with SSE across the full estate. We have solid experience with SSE and I look forward to seeing that relationship grow as the contract develops.”

Stewart Hughes, Deputy Head of SSE Group Security and Investigations, added: “SSE is pleased to award the rest of its UK operations to Mitie after many successful years of working together. The award of this contract recognises Mitie’s experience in the security business sector and meets our commitment to working with organisations that value their people. SSE looks forward to continuing its relationship with Mitie to meet the primary objective of promoting a safe and secure environment for our employees and visitors to our sites.”
