Director joiner

by Mark Rowe

Keith West is joining Ward Security as a director.

He took up his position at the Kent-based security contractor, specialising in health, safety and environmental management from January 1, 2013. He has 20 plus years of experience of property management.

Keith is a director of PEMCO, a management support services business he founded in 2010. The company provides safety management, commercial property management, HR management and training.

Over the past two decades, Keith has worked in the UK for a select group of international blue chip companies including Millennium Copthorne Hotels, British Airways, Norwich Union, Lend Lease and CB Richard Ellis.

Having originally trained as an electrical engineer, he later trained in building services engineering, with a focus on health and safety.

“I’ve been really impressed by Ward Security,” says Keith. “It genuinely is one of the upper quartile security providers. In fact, I would put it in the top five per cent. The company doesn’t sell on price but quality, and firmly believes in its employees, as evidenced by being the only security company in the UK being accredited to the Investors in People ‘Gold’ standard.

“I’m looking forward to helping the business grow and become a national supplier. But I want to help it to do this without losing that magic that makes Ward Security what it is. It’s important to keep to the company’s principles and grow in a way that preserves what makes it special.”

“Health, safety and environmental matters are an important focus going forward and I’m here to help Ward Security manage those risks and to ultimately make it an even better business.”

Ward has also made several other senior appointments. From January 1, Samantha Pullen will become Operations Director; Nikhil Kamboj will become Compliance Director; and Barry Marsham will re-join as Commercial Director.
