Chelsea Harbour contracts

by Mark Rowe

Mitie, the facilities management company, has been awarded cleaning and security contracts with Chelsea Harbour Limited.

The contracts, worth more than £7.5m over five years, involve the contractor working across the large estate to provide manned security and cleaning services. The site, in the south west of London on the River Thames, includes the marina, commercial offices and residential estate.

Mitie says that it was awarded the contract due to its tailored approach to the bidding process and its investment in technology. The contract company points to use of liquid glass by the cleaning team and its security hub, Mitec.

The client also stressed that Mitie’s management team demonstrated flexibility in providing a seamless and co-ordinated approach.

Bob Forsyth, Managing Director of Mitie’s cleaning and security businesses, said: “We believe that investing in new technology is central to our service. It plays a key role in driving forward our business, so it’s great to see that customers have the same approach. By combining lean processes with new technology in cleaning and security, such as wearable technology, this demonstrates the confidence Chelsea Harbour has in us.”

Sailesh Siyani, Head of Estate Operations at Chelsea Harbour, added: “Mitie succeeding in securing their respective cleaning and security contracts through the importance they place on people, technology and accountability. Mitie represented a ‘best fit’ in supporting Chelsea Harbour’s strategic direction over the next five years with the flexibility needed for a mixed use site. We look forward to developing the improvement culture that has come with this contract.”
