CBRE, the commercial real estate managers, have awarded a joint security and front-of-house contract to sister businesses Axis Security and Acuity for the 95 Gresham Street building after a competitive tender.
Based in the heart of London’s financial district, 95 Gresham Street was fully refurbished in 2010 and is spread over eight floors. Although it retains a classical façade, the commercial property contains over 100,000 sq ft of retail and office space, and it has some high profile corporate institutions amongst its tenants.
In winning the tender, competing against a number of other service operators, Axis will provide security officers to deliver round-the-clock manned guarding services. Complementing these officers, Acuity will provide a receptionist to work a 40-hour week from Mondays to Fridays. One of CBRE’s specific requirements was for the security officers and receptionist to combine in making the visitor experience more akin to entering a hotel than an office.
Wade Standen, Senior Facilities Manager at CBRE, says that having a proactive service provider is essential: “Prior to awarding the contract to Axis, we attended sites where it already provided services to ensure that its practices fitted our requirements. We found both firms to be pro-active and innovative, always on hand to help visitors that experienced access problems.”
Wade says he was also impressed with how quickly the team was mobilised: “The mobilisation period was very smooth with all employees transferred via the TUPE process, something that was important to us. Having a single communication line through to Axis’ senior management also ensures there is consistent and coherent dialogue.”
Jonathan Levine, CEO of Axis Group, adds: “This initial contract gives us the opportunity to demonstrate our operational capabilities, and further shows how our separate specialists service providers are successfully combining to form a coherent team.” Visit http://www.axis-security.co.uk.
