The guarding firm Magenta Security has been certified as being Carbon Neutral Plus during a Carbon Footprint Assessment.
Magenta says that it has shown CSR (corporate social responsibility) best practice, with a strong focus on green issues since it was first established more than 25 years ago. This certification, which measured Magenta’s carbon footprint over a year (from June 2020 to May 2021), demonstrates the company says that it actually goes beyond being carbon neutral – offsetting 19pc more carbon than the firm generates.
These offsetting measures are in addition to the firm’s environmentally positive practices, which include in their offices solar power, an adherence to the reduce, reuse, recycle mantra and more recently a switch from hybrid to 100pc electric vehicles (which are powered from the solar panels at head office).
Abbey Petkar, managing director of Magenta Security, pictured, said: “This is great news for the whole Magenta team and a clear demonstration of all the work we have put in over many years, during which we have led the security industry towards a more environmentally friendly future. Since I first set up the company 25 years ago, I have placed CSR at the heart of everything we do – whether it is ensuring the best possible working conditions; charitable work around the world; or looking after the planet; I have always wanted our business to give back wherever possible. The fact we are better than Carbon Neutral is incredibly gratifying, and I was delighted to receive the certification.”
