by Mark Rowe

The life safety product manufacturer Hochiki Europe has appointed James Morrison as the new Regional Sales Manager for the north of the UK. James, pictured, is replacing Richard Wharram who moves into one of two new roles to support growth in system sales and the company’s System Partner Programme alongside UK Systems Manager Neil Eves.

As the new RSM he’s covering Scotland, Northern Ireland and the North of England. James was an account manager within electrical wholesale in addition to more recent roles as area sales manager role developing the emergency lighting strategy for Channel Safety Systems and Business Development for Edmundson Electrical Ltd, where he was charged with developing their fire sales within the contractor market.

As a qualified BS5839-1 fire designer, James will be able to use his credentials and experience in the fire and emergency lighting industry alongside his product knowledge, Hochiki Europe says.

Mark Smith, UK Sales Manager, says: “I am delighted to welcome James to the team at such an exciting time of growth and innovation for the business. As we continue to make huge strides forward in the systems market, Richard’s experience in this field made him the ideal choice to help lead this area of the business and that move gave us the opportunity to appoint James as the new RSM for the North. James’s energy and wealth of experience, specifically his expertise in developing partnerships with customers and driving growth through innovation, is the ideal fit both for our company values and vision.”

And James said: “I am delighted to be able to join Hochiki Europe at a time of rapid growth and am looking forward to raising increased awareness across Scotland, Northern Ireland and the North of England of Hochiki’s trusted brand with an unrivalled legacy.

“Building long-standing relationships with customers is fundamentally what I thrive on. I enjoy getting to understand customers and working collaboratively with them to find innovative and well-thought through solutions to meet their exact needs and with Hochiki Europe’s trusted and extensive product ranges, it makes my job all that much more rewarding.”
