Control panel at services

by Mark Rowe

Temporary buildings at Welcome Break’s M3 southbound Fleet Services on the Surrey/Hampshire border were erected after a fire in December 2016 that almost completely destroyed the former services building. A Kentec fire control panel is in use.

In the truck park to provide facilities while a new permanent building is completed, Fleet has outlets including Starbucks, a Little Waitrose, Burger King, Harry Ramsden and WH Smith.

A new fire safety system, comprising a Kentec Syncro AS 16 Zone Control Panel with Apollo devices, protects the temporary structure.

Kentec says that its flagship ‘open protocol’ Syncro series uses microprocessor technology to provide a control system of high integrity. Syncro can be configured to suit all types of system the makers say. Its fully integrated and secure network provides an intelligent interface for building control, according to the firm.
