Aico at ASCP conference

by Mark Rowe

The alarm manufacturer Aico is sponsoring, and exhibiting at, the Association of Safety & Compliance Professionals (ASCP) conference at Celtic Manor, Gwent from April 24 to 25, 2019.

Formerly known as the Association of Gas Safety Managers (AGSM) Conference, the ASCP launched last year and has a wider remit, providing a voice for those responsible for all types of safety and compliance in social housing, including facilities management. The focus is standards and best practice.

Aico has a prime position stand, which will feature its range of carbon monoxide alarms. These include mains and Lithium battery powered alarms, including single sensor alarms and a multi-sensor. They feature an electrochemical carbon monoxide sensor which has a ten year life. All alarms are pre-calibrated and tested in Carbon Monoxide gas.

All Aico CO alarms come with AudioLINK data extraction, which enables real time alarm data (eg. number of times tested and details of alarm activations) to be extracted directy to a smartphone or tablet via an App which creates an alarm status report. It identifies any issues enabling action to be taken, for tenant safety; and reduces the cost of return visits to a property. AudioLINK also aids compliance for Landlords, providing proof that alarms are working at the start of a new tenancy and with annual gas safety checks.

Aico’s two most recent CO alarms will be on display: the Ei3018 and the Ei3028 Multi-Sensor Heat and Carbon Monoxide alarm which is for protecting tenants from fire and carbon monoxide in the kitchen and garage.

Aico staff will demonstrate alarms and advise on asset management matters and the long term financial benefits of installing CO alarm equipment, especially for reducing maintenance costs.

Aico is sponsoring the Electrical Safety and Compliance Initiative of the Year Award and will be presenting the winner’s trophy on the night.

Adam Hart, Commercial Manager, ASCP said: “We are pleased to welcome Aico once again as a sponsor and exhibitor at this year’s ASCP Safety and Compliance Conference and Awards and would like to thank them for their ongoing support. Aico not only support our annual conference but contribute to our regular regional technical meetings, helping us ensure that those responsible for safety and compliance in social housing are kept up to date with the latest industry developments, technical insights and product updates.”
