Door Entry

Door entry panel

Urmet has introduced a brushed stainless steel version of its Elekta door entry panel with a flush profile fascia. The manufacturers say that the Elekta INOX was developed with architects and has minimal visual impact, for preserving the aesthetics of a building’s design. A visitor using the panel sees information displayed on a 3.5-inch screen. The panel’s built-in wide-angle colour camera captures images of the visitor and the resident views this on an internal monitor within their apartment. The product meets the performance requirements of the Equality Act, the makers add. The alpha-numeric keypad features back-lit LED illumination to assist the visually impaired and the range of mounting heights complies with recommendations for wheelchair-users in the Wheelchair Housing Design Guide.

The panel offers door entry and access control. Installers can provide secure, hassle-free entry for residents via an integral proximity reader that can be used with 125 kHz or 13.56 MHz MIFARE. A duress function lets residents open the door with a code and at the same time send a signal to the concierge that there’s a problem.

Factoring out vandalism

The 316-grade micro-brushed stainless steel panel is flush-mounted to the fascia of entrances. The flush moving elements and hidden security fixings factor out pry points to protect against vandalism, which also increases the service life of the product. Elekta panels come in steel, glass and 316L marine-grade stainless steel. The Elekta INOX is available with Urmet’s IPervoice full IP system, as well as with the 2Voice two-wire system.

Mark Hagger, Sales & Marketing Director at Urmet, says: “The Elekta INOX is unobtrusive and neutral. It has Urmet’s unmistakable design values and will be popular amongst architects looking for an attractive flush-mounted entrance panel. Whatever a building’s style or age, there is now a door entry panel from the Elekta range offering excellent security with an aesthetically pleasing appearance.”

Applications

Urmet says that it’s working with architects, specifiers and consultants to meet specific needs and frequently requested design elements. The new panel is suitable for all types of accommodation, the makers say, from high-end residences (including period conversions) to social housing.

Installation time on site is also reduced, as there are no modules to be assembled and engineers need little more than a Torx screwdriver. The panel dimensions are 338 mm (h) x 150 mm (w) x 60 mm (d).

Urmet adds that its Elekta panels have already been installed at various projects, mainly across central London, as well as in other cities across the UK that are seeing high-rise housing developments. Visit www.urmet.co.uk.
