Huawei add to Alliance

by Mark Rowe

Huawei has joined the Intel Security Innovation Alliance, the Intel Security technology partnering group. As the first Intel Security Innovation Alliance partner in the China market, Huawei says that it plans to collaborate on joint solutions against advanced persistent threats (APT).

The Alliance has more than 120 partners globally, working on interoperable security products. Huawei says that one possible use case example is the integration of Huawei Big Data intelligence security with Intel Security’s endpoint technology, to create joint solutions to detect and protect against APTs – IT attacks over long durations and multiple phases. Huawei Security covers network security, cloud and application security.

DJ Long, Head of Intel Security Innovation Alliance, said: “In today’s security landscape, collaboration and innovation are more important than ever. We believe that the collaboration between Intel Security and Huawei through the Intel Security Innovation Alliance will help customers expedite the threat defense lifecycle and create more secure environments.”

And Liu Lizhu, General Manager of Security Gateway Domain, Switch and Enterprise Gateway Product Line of Huawei, said: “The fast development of cloud-based business, IoT and other technologies means that security protection has become far more complicated. Huawei is very pleased to join the Intel Security Innovation Alliance for win-win collaboration to help customers address the security challenges of detecting and responding against unknown threats and attacks.”

The firewall product company Check Point has also joined.
