Video conferencing firm hails 27001

by Mark Rowe

A meeting room and video conferencing product company reports it has gained ISO/IEC 27001 certification, the information security management standard covering people, processes, suppliers, and IT systems.

The StarLeaf platform delivers video conferencing with an 99.999 per cent uptime SLA the firm says, or put another way; no more than six minutes of downtime per year. StarLeaf has designed and engineered its own platform with global points of presence providing a fully redundant service. The firm points to its data jurisdiction guarantee as assuring customers that data they share with StarLeaf will be processed in compliance with data protection regulations in their own jurisdiction.

Rebekah Allendevaux, senior partner at Allendevaux & Company, the ISO/IEC 27001 implementation firm said: “StarLeaf has attained the most respected and internationally recognised information security and compliance standard. As a global organisation entrusted with real-time conference media, presence, chat messages, recorded meetings and content sharing, the safeguards translate into customer trust and confidence.”

As the firm says, every organisation, service provider and customer alike, needs to carefully consider its own data protection and systematic controls, especially to meet strict compliance regulations, which include the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) covering European Union countries.

Mark Loney, Chief Executive Officer, StarLeaf said: “We are proud to achieve the ISO/IEC 27001 certification. From in-house design to quality manufacturing, we consistently provide the highest physical and technical controls, which feature throughout our information risk management practices. It is our focus on reliability and security that gives our enterprise customers confidence to empower their workforce to improve collaboration and increase productivity knowing that their information is safe to connect, share, and meet in an instant.”

And Kevin Bernitz, VP Product Management, StarLeaf said: “The ISO/IEC 27001 accreditation reflects the StarLeaf ethos to meet the highest operational and engineering standards. As enterprises across the globe scale their collaboration strategies, we ensure that our customers can rely on and trust StarLeaf to host their most important communications. Our robust, integrated cloud architecture, 99.999pc uptime SLA, and security standards give customers the reassurance that their users’ data is secure and remains within their chosen jurisdiction.”
