Y3K at IFSEC 2014

by Mark Rowe

The HD CCTV and specialist security distributor, Y3K, has reported a significant increase in visitor numbers to IFSEC 2014 compared with shows in previous years. Y3K showcased its own latest HD CCTV, as well as vehicle CCTV from sister company SmartWitness, and new access control and time attendance products from the manufacturer, Anviz. The show also marked a new chapter in Y3K’s history as a distribution partnership with electrical wholesalers WF Senate was signed on the opening day, making them a distribution channel partner for Y3K’s range of HD CCTV and security products.

The event, on debut at the Excel Centre in London’s Docklands, saw on display Y3K’s new range of HD CCTV surveillance cameras. Two new ranges of Xvision IP cameras were also launched: Xvision Pro HD, which offers installers 1080p resolution images, and Xvision ELITE, which caters for those looking for enterprise-level IP CCTV, including video content analytics and ANPR. New to Y3K’s portfolio was a range of Anviz biometric access control products. Fingerprint Recognition, Facial Recognition, Time Attendance and RFID Access-Control products are all supported by Y3K’s UK-based technical support team.

The event also allowed Y3K and WF Senate to meet customers and explain more about the new partnership. Now that the partnership agreement has been signed, and after a successful trial, Y3K’s products are now available from 104 WF Senate branches across the UK, where customers receive advice and product support, a system design service and same-day delivery/collection.

Paul Singh, CEO for the Y3K Group said: “Moving the show to London put IFSEC to the test – one we are happy to say it has passed with flying colours. We have had a busy, yet effective exhibition, with many new and existing clients visiting our booth to try out all the products we had on display. Speaking with them also highlighted how the UK was missing a local source for Installers to try, purchase and receive after sales support for all their CCTV and access-control needs. Our partnership with WF Senate gives us the largest UK footprint of CCTV trade counters in the UK, it’s a unique opportunity, for us, for WF Senate and most importantly our customers.”
