Thermal camera series

by Mark Rowe

New from Dahua Technology, the Chinese manufacturer of video surveillance products based in Hangzhou, is a smart thermal camera series. The products are aimed at perimeter, electric industry, manufacture security applications.

The thermal network camera family includes a hybrid PTZ camera, hybrid speed dome, bullet camera and dome, all with a variety of smart functions. The cameras’ sensor can detect tiny differences in temperature, the makers say. The cameras can work in complete darkness and adverse weather, whether for detection or tracking of objects.

According to the company the cameras can precisely determine temperature and the temperature distribution even on small and fast moving objects, and are of use for detecting water leak behind a wall, a person hidden in bushes at night, or to identify passengers with a fever passing through a checkpoint.

The thermal hybrid network PTZ camera (the PT8320/8620, pictured) has a 40x optical zoom lens and a thermal camera synchronized in pan and tilt movements. The network camera can capture images in full scale without the need to step back or frame the shot.

A thermal camera can be used for night-vision missions or precise thermographic surveys. The lens focuses the infrared light emitted by all of the objects in view. It can deliver several independent H.264 streams to satisfy different quality needs and bandwidth constraints the makers add. Dahua also provides software and accessories.
