Redvision after ST13 Newcastle

by Mark Rowe

The Security Twenty 13 exhibition series, organised by Professional Security Magazine, was hailed by exhibitor and CCTV manufacturer Redvision.

Glenn Waterfall, sales director at Redvision, said afterwards: “A wide number of high-quality, end-users and integrator visitors have made the exhibition series very worthwhile. The exhibition was well attended and there were many opportunities to network, both during the dinner on the evening before and at the exhibition itself. The hotel environment, rather than exhibition hall format, keeps the show to a manageable size for visitors and ensures each exhibitor’s stand remains compact and focused.

“We presented our new X-SERIES Dual Light, which combines IR and white light ‘super-efficient’ LEDs with an illumination range of 100m, alongside our well-established IR version. Both are extensively used in many Local Authority and public space applications. When end-users can see and touch our products for themselves, they begin to appreciate the quality and robust nature of their design. The fact we can produce colour images at night, with full facial recognition at 40m, is seen as a huge advantage in real-life applications. The ability to switch between IR and white light modes to produce optimal images in almost any lighting conditions is also well received.

“Our LED lighting modules only draw 48W of energy altogether. This is similar to a small light bulb and around 5 per cent of the energy consumption of a flood light or a white light PTZ solution. The X-SERIES domes’ LEDs last around six years, as opposed to traditional PTZ lamps with a MTBF of three months. This reduces site visit frequency, running costs and total cost of ownership. All of which are a real advantage for end users.”
