PTZ dome

by Mark Rowe

New from Vista is the VK2-HD30LRIR-PM. It’s a pan and tilt dome camera with 500m infra-red (IR) illumination. As an addition to the VK2 range, this pendant mount camera uses a 1/1.9-inch Sony Exmor CMOS chipset to produce colour images. For images at night, the camera has a ‘Darkbuster’ mode.

For sites without ambient lighting, this 1080p 30:1 optical dome includes integral IR illumination. This tracks with the zoom function of the camera providing illumination over the zoom range for balanced images at distances of up to 500m, the company says. The dome has wide dynamic range (WDR, 120dB). It offers four alarm inputs, two-way audio and can record to a Micro SD memory card. The camera has been designed with a quarter turn bayonet adaptor which means it can be installed into any standard 1.5-inch NPT threaded bracket.

The VK2-HD30LRIR-PM is ONVIF compliant and compatible with Vista’s software and hardware recording and control products as well as third party manufacturers’ video management software. Kramar Donachie, Vista Product Manager, says: “The VK2HD30LRIR-PM is a great product and a fantastic addition to the VK2 range. When in Darkbuster mode the camera produces stunning quality colour images in extremely low light conditions and the use of 500m of IR illumination in monochrome mode allows for outstanding distances to be covered by the camera.”
