PTZ cameras

by Mark Rowe

ULISSE RADICAL is a new range of PTZ cameras from VIDEOTEC. All IP, the cameraas can be managed via the ONVIF-S protocol by most video management software (VMS) on the market.

Videotec offers its PTZs, pre-assembled in the factory, with the motorised network cameras and zoom lenses.

ULISSE RADICAL was developed by Videotec in every detail during the design and engineering stages to ensure proper functionality, making it ready to use, according to the Italian firm. The camera and lens have been pre-configured during the production stage, and the user only needs to connect up to the power supply and network and carry out the final set-up to adapt it to requirements.

These full HD cameras come with half-inch CMOS sensor, and provide 1080p/60 frames per second images for daytime and night-time broadcast quality video. To obtain images, even for long distances, high-performance lenses were selected, 18x or 33x, up to 500mm. An autofocus allows the user to quickly achieve focus, automatically or manually, reaching distant targets whilst retaining details, according to the company. A Visible Cut Filter enables the removal of disturbances caused by the external environment, due to haze or excessive heat.

The pan and tilts perform even in complete darkness thanks to the two illuminators ensuring clear illumination up to a distance of more than 300 metres, it’s claimed. With its temperature control system, the products are designed for continuous operation even in extreme temperatures, from minus 40 degrees C to 60 degrees C. The motors provide fluidity of movement, even at a minimum speed of 0.02 degrees per second the makers add.
