Panasonic at IFSEC 2016

by Mark Rowe

Panasonic Business will introduce what it calls the industry’s most robust PTZ security camera, designed for the most severe weather conditions and mission critical applications, at IFSEC 2016.

The Aero-PTZ (WV-SUD638) has Full HD resolution at 60fps with a 30x optical zoom lens. The camera features hybrid image stabilisation technology and gyro-sensors, to minimise the impact of external vibrations. Designed for applications at height, at sea and on ports, piers and bridges, the Aero PTZ comes with ‘active sense’ technology, responding to external conditions to initiate built-in wipers to keep the lens clear in rain and snow, a heater to ensure internal electronics are operating at the optimal temperature and a defroster to keep the viewing lens clear.

Gerard Figols, Product Marketing Manager for Panasonic Security Solutions, said: “The Aero PTZ is the most environmentally rugged camera on the market, capable of withstanding more extreme conditions than ever before. The camera is ready for any installation and will reliably produce sharp, crisp images, whatever the weather.”

The 360degree aerodynamic spherical design helps to minimise interference drag for visual stability in winds of up to 135mph, while the radius bodyline is to deter snow and dirt build-up. The glass fibre body is resistant to erosion and salt corrosion, the makers add. The camera is IP67 rated, which means it is both water and dust proof, and is vandal proof to IK10 standards. It has a sphere pan-tilt mechanism allowing endless 360-degree panning and a 90 degree to minus 180 degree tilt range. A super dynamic function ensures a wider dynamic range compared to conventional cameras.

Also Panasonic will showcase its newly launched people masking technology, secure communications, rugged mobile camera for transport and intelligent compression technology.

“The theme for Panasonic at IFSEC 2016 is ‘Leading the way in intelligent security’. At the show we will introduce value propositions specific to banking, city surveillance, transport and museums and demonstrate why our unique embedded technologies can help produce more reliable, more cost-effective surveillance, adding much more to your business than just security,” added Gerard Figols.
