IP speed dome

by Mark Rowe

New from Grundig is its 30x optical zoom IP speed dome.

Grundig’s 1080p IP speed dome range now has a 30x optical zoom option. The speed dome, GCI-K2795P, has an IK10 vandal-resistance rating, IP66 weatherproof rating and operating temperature range of minus 40 to 50 degrees C. This makes it a choice for outdoor, rugged applications prone to extremes of weather and temperature, the German makers say. The dome features quad video streams. Its high-resolution, 1920 x 1080p, 2MP stream is for Full HD recording with lower resolution D1 or CIF video streams available for viewing on monitors or smartphones. H.264 and MJPEG compression modes ensure video transmission and data storage, saving network bandwidth, it is claimed. Day-night and wide dynamic range functions are for severely backlit scenes or at night.
The dome offers 400 degrees per second pan and tilt movement, with a minimum speed of 0.5 degrees per second for dome positioning. The 30x optical zoom, with 12x digital zoom, enables operators to zoom in and follow events from a distance.

Installers have 24V and PoE power options and a range of mounts, including wall, corner, pole, pendant and an adapter for Pelco pendant mounts. The dome has bi-directional audio, as a crime deterrent, allowing operators to warn off site intruders or issue instructions to site visitors. Further features include 16 programmable privacy zones, 256 pre-sets, eight tours, four alarm inputs and two relay outputs. For set-up there’s an intuitive GUI or web browser interface.

The domes support ONVIF profile S integration, for compatibility with most control systems and video management software.
