IFSEC & OSH Arabia

by Mark Rowe

IFSEC & OSH Arabia, co-organised by UBM Live and the Security Control Company (SCC), has closed its doors for 2013 after a record breaking year. Organisers report a 25 per cent increase in visitor numbers. The security, fire and safety conference and exhibition’s third edition ran from November 24 to 26. Some 5,077 visitors came through the doors at RICEC, Riyadh Saudi Arabia. Attracting visitors with budgets in excess of £1m to witness the latest technology in the region, organisations that attended included; United Petrochemical, BAE Systems, Saudi Kayan Petrochemical, Jeddah Islamic Port, King Abdulaziz University and King Faisal Hospital.

Key exhibitors to have already signed up for the 2014 floor plan include: Axis, Milestone, Traka, Elmdene, BDS, IDL, Vidsys, Ozak plus more. Acknowledging that IFSEC & OSH Arabia is the only event in the region to meet the most influential security end users, integrators, installers and manufacturers, exhibitors recognise the importance of being present at this leading event. Paul King, Commercial Director, Elmdene said: “IFSEC & OSH Arabia provides an invaluable opportunity to talk to distributors, agents and integrators on the ground who have a strong understanding of what is, by far, the largest market for fire and security solutions in the region.”

Running alongside the exhibition, there was a guest speaker line up for the Ministry of Interior (MOI)’s 16th International Conference and Exhibition for Industrial Security, organised by the Higher Commission for Industrial Security (HCIS). The two day conference addressed three dedicated streams; security, fire and safety with keynote speeches.

Building on the success of this year, 2014 is already set to be another show stopping event. With international representation from new and returning country pavilions, IFSEC & OSH Arabia will continue to present the industry with what it needs. Patrick Latchem, Project Director, IFSEC & OSH Arabia said: “Visitors who have attended the show this year have demonstrated that this is the only destination in the region that caters for their needs. The conference has been a huge success with a selection of the industry’s most influential leaders discussing trends that are currently happening. We have been really pleased with the outcome and feel that 2014 will once again build on the strength that IFSEC & OSH Arabia has created.”

IFSEC & OSH Arabia will return in 2014 and will continue to work alongside the Ministry of Interior and attract all the key players within the Saudi industrial security landscape.
