HD and high net worth individuals

by Mark Rowe

As High Definition (HD), high quality images are more commonplace in the security market; this is often posing a perceived threat and increased risk to some high net worth individuals, writes Robin Gill, pictured.

A feeling of being more exposed and vulnerable and in turn less secure in certain areas and scenarios when using HD technologies within their security system. HD images, when being viewed by third parties, provide the ability to electronically zoom into the image and a great deal of information and detail can be ascertained. What are they doing? What are they looking at? Who are they with?

By using thermal imaging cameras and video analytics for detection, this information is not available to viewers, maintaining the individual’s autonomy. Only the thermal image view of the intruder will be available to third party security or the Remote Video Receiving Centre.

Using this technology will not only overcome privacy concerns but also improve detection rates, distances and dramatically reduce nuisance and false alarm generation.
This solution provides high net worth individuals a greater feeling of security and increased confidence and satisfaction in the security provision as a whole.

This is one example why sales of thermal image cameras combined with video analytics for detection for security applications have increased in 2015.
