Essen award for Raytec

by Mark Rowe

Raytec won a Security Essen Technology Innovation award during the German exhibition, for their new VARIO IPPoE range of network illuminators.

The UK CCTV lighting manufacturer beat six others to win the bronze title at the show. Pictured left to right are Buzz Coates Sales Director, and Stefan Blohm business development manager of the DACH region.

As an IP addressable CCTV illuminator, VARIO IPPoE also won an IFSEC Award for Best CCTV System of the Year 2013, and was an ISC West finalist for Best New Product.

The product lets users not only control their IP cameras remotely, but control their lighting in the same way, for security and safety all hours.

Controlled via a web interface, video management system or new HTTP commands, the product provides dedicated IP lighting for network cameras, allowing for remote set up, commissioning, operation and maintenance of lighting from anywhere on the network. Available in Infra-Red and White-Light LED, lighting can be controlled via other network devices such as cameras, detectors or video management software and triggered on alarm to deter intruders on site. Users can also take remote control over any illuminator at any time to respond to live events and alter settings to fine-tune CCTV images. Lighting can also be operated in groups, for control of large sites.

Wwith the launch of new HTTP commands, a user can integrate network lighting, with configuration at device interface level rather than at a software level. Visit www.rayteccctv.com.
