equIP series cameras

by Mark Rowe

Honeywell (has added several devices to its range of equIP series cameras. The multi-national says that it’s designed to produce better picture quality in the most challenging of conditions. It also announced the newest version (4.0) of its MAXPRO network video recorder (NVR), for storing and locating archived video, as well as to create integrated surveillance systems.

The company also recently launched a new IR PTZ cameras to its HDZ range that provide images in low light applications in vandal-resistant camera housing. The equIP and HDZ cameras and MAXPRO NVRs integrate with Honeywell and third party products for what the product company calls a fully integrated IP solution. Using MAXPRO NVR status monitor allows users to check the status of their system.

The equIP cameras can be installed using features such as the onboard help facility and Motorized Zoom function. The updated range includes cameras that come in four megapixel (4MP), 1080p, and 1080p ultra-low light resolutions. These cameras feature wide dynamic range imaging, which provides video capture in high-contrast lighting and extreme backlit scenes, and use edge enhancement for clarity.

To save installation time, the equIP cameras support ONVIF Profile S and G and integrate with Honeywell NVRs/VMS (including MAXPRO, DVM, and Performance Embedded NVRs) and third-party manufacturers.

Gerald Coste, Global Video Product Director, Honeywell Security and Fire, said: “This complete IP solution integrates new cameras that provide high quality video in ultra-low light environments with new technology in the NVRs that monitor the status of the system. It provides an integrated offering for installers and more features and benefits to end users. There isn’t an environment that this system can’t go into.”
