Data centre CCTV

by msecadm4921

Netwatch has been appointed to provide security for LDeX1 – a new purpose-built data centre in north London. LDeX1 is a new 22,000sqft site of the London Data Exchange (LDeX), which provides colocation services to organisations looking to outsource their server and telecoms equipment to a specialist data centre, while still owning and controlling their hardware. It is worth a reported £7.7m.

Netwatch will provide LDeX1 with round the clock CCTV which include virtual perimeter tripwires that link to the police when necessary. The security contractor says that it offers asset protection with 24-hour watch, with intervention staff within the Netwatch’s remote communication hub who detect intruders on the perimeter site security system and issue a personalised warning to them, alerting them that they have been seen and the police are on their way.

The security firm says that it has developed a bespoke security solution for LDeX1 which can deliver all the advantages of intensive manned security at a low cost.  The firm points to a client base of more than 2000 across eight countries.

David McCarthy, Director of Sales at Netwatch, said: “Response security measures are needed for a building such as LDeX1 – for us, we believe it is far better to detect and prevent a crime from happening rather than trying to solve it afterwards. That is part of the reason why it was so important for LDeX1 to use our services.

“It is a real honour to be providing security solutions for LDeX1 and I am confident that we are going to provide the company with a service second to none.”

Matthew Edgley, Director of LDeX, said: “We looked at a number of security solutions for LDeX1 but nothing came close to the sort of service Netwatch was offering us. Having a 24 hour a day service, offering unbeatable intruder detection solutions and a direct link to the police is exactly what we needed for the new North London building. I’m very much looking forward to having Netwatch play an integral part in the development of our latest branch.

“Months of planning and design went into LDeX1 and it was important to us to find the very best security solutions specialist possible. I believe we have found that in Netwatch.”
