The manufacturers of network cameras and lighting respectively, Axis Communications and Raytec, hosted some educational test night sessions focused on ‘Lighting for Network Cameras’, held across England, Scotland and Denmark in the winter of 2011 to 2012.

After these regional events, Axis and Raytec have released a white paper to summarise the most useful and practical lessons learned.

You can download the white paper hereThe paper summarises:

Mounting and set-up (cameras and lighting)

Matching angle of illumination to camera FOV

Energy and cost saving solutions

Using the minimum lighting required

Using low light camera technology at night

Lowering bandwidth and storage requirements

Quick start lighting and good colour rendition

Integration of thermal technology and infra-red (IR).
