by Mark Rowe

Arecont Vision, the US-based IP megapixel camera company, has appointed Ivo Drent as Vice President for Europe. He joins the company after more than two decades in the CCTV industry in positions responsible for regional management, sales management, marketing, customer support and business development.

Drent will manage Europe for Arecont Vision, including the sales team. He will also take responsibility for strategic accounts, building on the company’s relationships at key distributors, systems integrators and technology partners. He will be based in Arecont Vision’s regional headquarters office in Frankfurt, Germany.

Ivo Drent has spent more than 20 years in the video surveillance industry working for manufacturers such as Dedicated Micros, Pelco and IndigoVision. For Pelco, Drent headed up their EMEA operations from the head office in Eindhoven, the Netherlands, managing a team of nearly 100 people who were in various offices across Europe and the Middle East. For IndigoVision, he managed their EMEA sales, marketing and support operations. More recently, Drent has been Worldwide Vice President for DataDirect Networks, a manufacturer of storage products, where he was responsible for their Government and Digital Security division.

Ivo Drent said: “I’m excited to join Arecont Vision who is seen as the industry leader in IP megapixel camera technology, and who still has great potential for growth in the European market. Establishing good relationships with key distributors and system integrators in the area will be key to accelerate our growth in Europe, and I’m looking forward to contribute to that together with the European sales team.”

“Arecont Vision needs as an experienced leader in Europe, and we have found one in Ivo Drent,” said Scott Schafer, Executive Vice President, Arecont Vision. “Key European distributors, systems integrators and technology partners are embracing megapixel IP cameras for their ability to improve image quality, boost system functionality, lower system costs and improve the ROI for their customers. Ivo will further develop our relationships with these important selling partners and drive business growth throughout Europe.”
